Snake Davis at the Hunter Club

Real Jazz Club! This was a recent exciting discovery for me being new to the Jazz scene. The first gig we saw was Nigel Price playing with the resident band The Chris Ingham Trio, and we were blown away by the purity of the sound and the cosiness of this perfect club. We have been 3 times now and never been disappointed with anything! It does have the cabaret table seating which makes it a little tight but it all adds to the atmosphere. Chris Ingham and his band are brilliant. We adored his Dudley Moore set."

Sue, reviewing on Trip Advisor, April 2016

Since October 2010, Headhunters have presented monthly sessions featuring some of the country’s greatest jazz instrumentalists and singers at the Hunter Club Bury St Edmunds with the Chris Ingham Trio.

With a handshake and talk-through at the soundcheck, the musicians rely on their shared language, repertoire and musical instincts to create impromptu art and spontaneous entertainment, much to the obvious delight of the audiences.

With comfortable seating, atmospheric lighting and a well-stocked bar, the ambience is more akin to an after-hours metropolitan night spot than a converted British Legion club. Recent enhancements, including a smart foyer entrance on St Andrews Street South, only add to the air of exclusivity
